Franchise Director - Product ManagingThe Franchise Director provides vision and direction in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives designed to achieve sustained growth for Stryker Sustainability's products and services by leading a business vertical within the Stryker Sustainability organization and is responsible for optimizing profits within the assigned franchise (business) area. This includes, but is not limited to, new product development and acquisition support, competitive analysis, portfolio management, and product positioning. This individual is also responsible for providing Sales tools and training necessary to achieve Franchise unit goals for market share, growth, and profitability. The Franchise Director supervises Product Managers and works directly with Demand Planners and Supply Specialists. The Franchise Director leads from a market perspective, but is responsible for translating this to operational and product development goals.
The Franchise Director is responsible for: -Franchise strategy (formulates long range plans, goals and objectives to develop optimal market penetration for the product franchise); -Revenue and profitability results; -Sales support; -Market analysis and intelligence; -New product development from a business/marketing/business growth perspective.
Qualifications/Work Experience
- Provide leadership and direction to Franchise team with regard to strategies for driving sales growth through new product development, acquisitions, identification of emerging markets, and penetration of existing markets.
- Responsible for developing annual plans, including strategic and tactical elements, and for achieving results as forecasted in plans.
- Develop long-term forecasts for orders, shipments, and gross margins based upon new and existing products as part of the strategic planning process.
- Perform competitive assessments of our existing product offering as input to New Product Development and Business Development efforts to address gaps in our portfolio.
- Develop productive relationships with industry/market thought leaders, organizations, and institutions as a means to guide the strategic direction of our business and better serve existing customers.
- Focus on continuous improvement with regard to product quality and functionality.
- Develop selling tools for current products including specification sheets, promotional material, clinical documentation, and competitive assessments to ensure our products are appropriately positioned in the market. Conduct sales training for new and existing Reps on an ""as needed"" basis.
- Provide direction on goals, content, and participation in National Sales meetings and trade shows that further the development of our sales team and contribute to the identification of sales leads for our products.
- Responsible for the presentation of regular (quarterly) reviews and evaluations of Unit performance to XLT.
- Manage financial and human resources within budgeted guidelines.
- Drive employee engagement through frequent one-on-one communication focused on what each employee needs for growth and development.
- Responsible for providing guidance to franchise team members.
- Personnel management including scheduling, providing technical assistance, and employee development which includes hiring, communicating company policies, coaching and counseling, administering performance appraisals, and enforcing company policies through appropriate disciplinary measures.
- Act with honor and integrity in all situations and follow applicable legal and regulatory guidelines when interacting with customers.
- Institute a highly responsive and unsurpassed level of customer service.
- Promote an environment emphasizing teamwork, empowerment, and problem resolution with a consultative approach toward internal and external customers.
Education and/or Special Training
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration or related degree; MBA preferred.
- 5-7 years in related marketing/sales position.
- Demonstrated ""Execution"" and ""Strategic Thinking"" strengths.
- Demonstrated written and oral communications skills including strong presentation skills.
- Time management, project management, inter-personal, reports and budget, stress management, people management, conflict management, customer service, Windows, advanced computer, statistics, financial systems.
- Functional skills: Personnel selection, financial systems, and organization structure protocol, interdepartmental interface, and interdivisional interface and P&L management.
- Expected to handle complex or difficult situations as appropriate.
