Food & Beverage Intern
Summary:
As a successful Food & Beverage Intern, your main responsibility is to learn the ropes and provide support in concessions related areas of the business.
Responsibilities:
As our Food & Beverage Intern, you will report to the Director and Manager of Food & Beverage and assist in the following tasks during the IronBirds and Youth Baseball Tournament & Camps season:
Schedule and track seasonal employees, including hours worked, and assist in training of seasonal staff
Help out in merchandise including monitoring the online store, doing weekly inventory checks of merchandise, adding new merchandise in the team store, etc.
Maintain the policies of the stadium in regards to customer service and other ballpark issues
Support the Director and Manager of Food & Beverage with game day tasks
Receive and store all food and beverage & retail inventory; complete monthly inventory of all food & retail items as well as rotating stock
Overseeing F&B operations including management and cleanliness of concession areas, coordination of private parties and inventory control
Manage and maintain daily cost of sales, cash control and inventory; Manage and maintain daily cost of sales
Monitor food quality to ensure it stays within company standard
Maintain solid/appropriate relationships with vendors and service agencies
Prepare required paperwork, record keeping, and reports
Perform periodic competitive price comparisons with local competition
Ensure completion of work responsibilities and special projects in accordance with the designated timeframe
Provide staff with feedback, ideas and suggestions on a timely basis
This is a stipend internship, and we will gladly work with you and your school to provide college credit for your internship experience!
Qualifications:
We require:
CURRENT COLLEGE STUDENT OR JANUARY 2012 COLLEGE GRAD
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
Terrific energy and a positive, "can-do" attitude
Strong organizational skills
Self- motivation and ability to take initiative
We prefer:
The ability to work at least 30 hours a week, beginning in March and potentially stay throughout the season!
Special Physical Requirements of the Job:
Ability to work long hours and weekends
Routinely exposed to extreme hot/cold weather conditions
