Financial Journalist
Position Description
Guggenheim Partners, a diversified financial services firm with more than 1,600 employees worldwide and more than $100 billion in assets under supervision, is seeking a Financial Journalist to author a series of essays articulating the Firm’s ongoing views of macroeconomic and financial market dynamics.
Through interviews and exchanges with the chief investment officer and other senior investment professionals, the Financial Journalist will author long-form, thoughtful pieces that take a research-centric, story-telling approach to topics encompassing monetary policy, economics, and financial markets. The position will be closely supported by a team of research professionals and will be responsible for managing content on a bi-weekly
publishing schedule.
In addition to bi-weekly market commentaries, the Financial Journalist will also work with the investment research team to contribute and edit text for quarterly research reports and other related research communications. The Financial Journalist will also support the Firm’s public relations efforts by writing sound bites and talking points for press interviews. There will also be opportunities to author special byline articles on behalf of the CIO, and perform other writing responsibilities as may reasonably be assigned from time to time.
Ideal candidates will be exceptionally thoughtful story-tellers with a strong familiarity with topics spanning macroeconomics, monetary and fiscal policy, as well as the global equity, fixed income, commodity, and foreign exchange markets. The ability to take complex, data-driven research and views on the financial markets and make them accessible through story-telling and analogies is imperative.
