Executive Speech Writer & Communication Specialist
Description
Responsible for the development and design of strategic communications for the CEO and COO, and other senior managers of the firm.
Develop speeches for a variety of internal and external speaking engagements for the firm's CEO and COO, as well as other Executive Committee members.
Develop key messaging and talking points for Executive Committee members.
Coordinate development of presentation materials that include the key messaging. Write announcements, annual letters and ad-hoc communications that are distributed electronically or as letters to customers.
Develop and enhance executive leader visibility internally and externally through electronic communication vehicles, including internal blog entries and external "From the Desk of" letters published online.
Develop internal communications based on firm’s core messages and positioning statements to help associates better understand the business strategy and direction, and become more engaged in delivering results.
Advise Executive Management and other internal clients and colleagues on how best to communicate key messages to associates, business partners, and customers.
Provide communications counsel to management to enhance their ability to effectively use communications to help achieve business objectives.
Quickly develop a deep understanding of the firm and target audiences in order to make effective communications program recommendations: both enhancing existing vehicles and recommending new programs where needed.
Collaborate with the Business Planning team in developing Executive presentations for key internal and external events.
Contribute to internal communications and public relations activities, as needed.
Collaborate with VP of Internal Communications to develop measures to track effectiveness of executive communications. Adjust and enhance programs based on research.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years' experience with 5 in the financial services industry.
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related discipline
Experience writing for C - Level executive(s)
Experience with a major publicly traded company.
Knowledge/experience in developing/executing a communications plan
