Description
Position Title: Director Product Marketing
Position Overview: Responsible for directing the development of company market requirements for specific therapy product(s) or product line(s). Monitors the development of business plans, managing lifecycles, and product positioning in the market place. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Responsible for managing the entire marketing mix. Interfaces with product planning, engineering, manufacturing, and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). Acts as a technical advisor for specific product(s) assigned.
Position Responsibilities: Define market opportunities, unmet needs, identify white space opportunities
Incorporating voice of the customer - market specifications, product design, verification and validation, market launch strategy (positioning)
Partner with sustaining engineering teams and bring in voice of the customer, competitive campaigns “no compromise campaign”, sales support, product forecasting, KOL development Manage budgets, projects and/or individuals.
Qualifications/requirements: Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience in the surgery industry, but does not have to be cardiovascular. Candidate could be from ortho, spine, or general (a company breaking into a therapy with novel technology would be ideal.)
Extensive upstream/portfolio/pipeline experience as well as extensive downstream/sales support experience. Product launch experience: taken product full cycle from inception to launch. Has had background experience in successfully selling new product for new therapy, not just product iterations or line extensions.
Experience with a large medical device company as well as start-up company experience. Ideal candidate is one that is looking for something new and wants the opportunity to be a contributing member of an organization that is reinventing itself.
Experienced in developing and coaching a team of product managers. Manager of people – support team to focus on priorities.
