SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Lead the development of marketing plans that will drive growth in both the indigenous and import lists to achieve corporate targets
Direct, recommend, and implement channel management strategies to fully leverage the potential of products
Research, develop and implement a brand and communications strategy that elicits the behaviours, values and vision of the company
Development of key messages for all audiences that communicate our core brand identity
Contribute to the total effectiveness of the division, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive engaged team member
Work closely with the development of integrated action plans that will address the strategic imperative of the division
Develop and manage marketing budgets and forecasts. Delivery of all marketing activity within agreed budget
Establish the strategic priorities of the promotion, market development, and advertising functions and develop action plans to implement these priorities
Work closely with the sales and editorial teams to develop effective strategies for closing key adoptions
Establish key metrics in the areas of customer contact, sales tools and promotion hit rates, front list sales objectives, e-mail campaign and promotions and web marketing.
Create a methodology for measuring the effectiveness of these activities and report back on the results to the Higher Education management team monthly
Analyze pricing positions and participate in pricing policy decisions
Implement and manage marketing policies and procedures
Supervise the activities of Marketing Managers and Marketing Coordinators
Provide market research to support the direction and development of the publishing program and sales strategies
QUALIFICATIONS:
University Degree University degree or equivalent; Marketing is preferred
A minimum of 5 years professional services in a Marketing and Communication Leadership role
A thorough understanding of Branding Principles and Tactics through multimedia
Extensive knowledge of SEO and SEM strategies and tactics
Experience in the creation and execution of eMarketing campaigns
Experience in working with a direct sales force
Previous experience managing staff would be an asset
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), analytical skills and presentation skills
Proven ability to develop and implement innovative projects
Creative problem solving and fluency in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
Possess the ability to work in a team environment as well as working independently
