Director of Marketing
Job Summary Commission Junction’s Director of Marketing is responsible for the promotion of the company’s solutions to the marketplace. The scope of responsibility includes the creation of a marketing communication strategy and tactical plans addressing the customer lifecycle, including: awareness, demand generation, sales support, existing customer communications, corporate communications, public relations and customer win/loss analysis. In addition, the Director of Marketing is also responsible for creating and managing aspects of solutions marketing, which includes the development and promotion of the company’s solutions, pricing, positioning and promotion.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Set direction, manage, and assist with recruitment of the Marketing team. Use staff to assist with duties below, as appropriate:
* Plan, justify, manage to budget and execute effective marketing programs * Ensure all marketing programs achieve clearly defined objectives, establish metrics to measure effectiveness/ROI and implement improvements as required * Conducting and analyzing market research to determine company competitiveness * Define, maintain, and ensure consistency and appropriate presentation of the brand and company messaging * Develop product launch strategies and value propositions for Go-to-Market plans * Direct the Company’s public relations efforts, policies and practices * Direct the development of case studies, white papers, testimonials, collateral, etc. * Direct the design, creation of content, and maintenance for the Company’s Web sites * Manage and execute the company’s tradeshows and events * Lead solution marketing efforts and be responsible for all sales tools, RFPs, lead generation activities, etc. * Developing and preparing key messaging and presentation materials for senior management * Represent the product and Company to staff and customers in public forums as needed * Build and develop a marketing team which is competent, dedicated and efficient * Ensure the integration of the business unit marketing function within that of the greater group, and ensure that marketing team optimizes its use of shared and support services. * Build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity * Other duties as may be determined
Required Education and Experience
* Marketing and design skills - Highly creative and visual with experience directing creative designers * Strong business-to-business product marketing experience in all phases of bringing new products and features to market, from conception to launch and on-going improvement/iteration * Ability to work effectively, knowledgeably and collaboratively with a wide range of internal company functions * Exceptional communications skills, including inter-personal, writing, and speaking * Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills * Staff management * Proven vendor management experience * Budgeting experience * Multi-tasking strengths * Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * A hunger to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment * BA or BS in a relevant field * 8-12 years marketing experience in high-tech or corporate environment with staff management experience
