Director of Marketing
The Director of Practice Growth will take a lead role in growing the practice, through traditional services, as well as contributing to the diverse growth of the CPA firm. This person will play a major role in developing and implementing best practices in marketing, business development support and segment (service lines and industries) development for the firm.
The successful candidate will have proven success in all aspects of business development support, traditional marketing and new and existing product management.
Responsibilities:
Overall Growth
.
Develop strategic growth plans with individual business units.
Develop and execute the firm’s annual practice growth plan with senior firm leadership
Develop and execute comprehensive support plans to assist segments and other business units in achieving their growth plans.
Develop and execute departmental budget to support firm’s growth initiatives.
Marketing
Develop marketing communications strategy, development, implementation and support.
Maintain and enhance brand management.
Develop and implement the firm’s social media strategy.
Launch a website project currently in development.
Develop and maintain database strategy and implementation.
Develop and execute firm related events.
Responsible for all firm Public Relations initiatives and coordinating outside PR firm for national coverage.
Serve as a cross functional internal resource with regard to firm communications (internal and external), events and branding.
Business Development
Directly involved in proposal development and support
Support the business development team in the identification and implementation of appropriate lead generation campaigns.
Support the firm’s sales processes including but not limited to training, coaching and other activities that drive profitable revenue.
Product Management
Develop segment strategies with segment leaders to drive growth in their segments.
Support the development of segment initiatives, including helping segment leaders and teams develop competencies and execute initiatives to grow their segments.
Drive and support the design and development of enhancements and new innovative services.
Education, Experience and Skills Required
A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related area. MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
A minimum of ten years of experience, preferably in a professional services or general commercial environment.
Proven experience in support of sales, traditional marketing activities and product management. Public Relations experience a plus.
A change agent with proven ability to bring new ideas, concepts and processes to a traditional environment that may have not been exposed to growth best practices.
Ability to persuasively communicate and sell new concepts and processes to all levels within the firm.
Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but able to recognize and support the partnership’s preferences and priorities.
Results and profit-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
Participative management style, advocates team concept.
High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
