Director of Checking Products
Purpose and Function of Job:
This position is responsible for executing the banks checking and debit growth strategy, bringing to market new checking account and debit products / value propositions, and managing checking balance growth and profitability. This person will be working as part of a cross-functional team to build and deploy end to end processes that align with our Brand, Customer, Associate and Shareholder strategies.
Principle Accountabilities:
· Executing the banks checking acquisition and balance growth strategies
· Developing and deploying the banks checking revenue strategies: NII and fees
· Developing and deploying new checking account products / value propositions
· Balancing risk reward trades of balance growth and revenue optimization
· Leveraging partnerships to oversee the end-to-end processes supporting sales, service and fulfillment
· Leading initiatives and process improvements which enhance customer experience
· Assessing and reporting business performance
· Identifying and mitigating business performance risks
· Providing business updates/review to Senior Leaders and key business partners
· Modeling the corporations core leadership attributes
MEASURES FOR SUCCESS
Success will be measured on both a qualitative and quantitative basis:
· Qualitative measures include but may not be limited to the following:
· Peer / Partner feedback
· Leadership attribute assessment
· Project execution; quality and timeliness
· Quantitative measures include but may not be limited to the following:
· Checking balance and unit growth
· Checking revenue
· Customer satisfaction
Key Debit metrics (activation, usage, etc)
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
· Collegiate degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field; MBA preferred but not required
· Minimum 5-7 years product and process management experience in the Financial Services Industry
Strong process design and issue resolution capabilities.
· Demonstrated ability of working well in a complex organization involving sales, marketing, operations, data, research, human resources, corporate counsel, risk, pricing
· Experience using research and analytics to drive decision making
· Must have proven problem solving abilities and work well in a team environment
· Demonstrated experience in client/account management and leadership
· Excellent written and verbal skills are required in order to effectively communicate and present ideas, plans and concepts
· Should be an independent worker who needs guidance but not daily management
· Must have strength and confidence working within a business unit in a remote environment
· Must be able to think strategically, act tactically
CONDITIONS OF WORK
· Occasional travel
· Weekend work is not expected but could occur
· Position will be located in Charlotte
