Dir, Business Development (IFO)

We invent, engineer and deliver technology solutions that drive business value, create social value and improve the lives of our ve as the organizations business liaison, lead expert and advocate with international funding organizations (IFOs) and affiliated development organizations, their programs, and activities.  Assist the GMO organization in business development activities.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Define the companys engagement strategy and priorities with the IFOs
- In coordination with the Growth Markets Organization,  global business units, regional Government Affairs Directors and other professional staff members, develop and implement a proactive business and advocacy strategy with the IFOs.
- Advise the company on opportunities with IFO programs and projects and work with internal stakeholders to develop and implement strategy to pursue them.
- Work & coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders to pursue and communicate the companys agenda internally at IFO headquarters and in region.
 
2. Be the leading HP representative with the IFOs and other development organizations
- Represent the company in relevant meetings and industry groups engaged with IFOs.
- Serve as the primary contact for work of consultants (DFI) and oversee their efforts on all IFO related matters.
- Manage available internal resources to establish a leadership position with the IFOs; including, but not limited to, organizing thought leadership events; drawing from internal policy expertise; press strategy (in coordination with comms); sponsorship opportunities etc.
- Develop and implement an engagement strategy with the Diplomatic community in Washington.
- Engage non-US based IFOs (expect 3 to 4 overseas trips per year).
 
3. Be the leading HP representative in various business development activities.
 EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in international trade policy
- Bachelor's degree
- Broad understanding of global development organizations
o World Bank, IADB, African & Asian Development banks, USAID, USTDA, etc.
o Internal IFO processes, particularly project procurement process
o Network of relationships already in place
- Understanding of embassy operations and dynamics, particularly in emerging markets
- Basic ICT literacy to understand HP solutions at high level to support HP procurement process and for interfacing with the business (e.g. EMO, Sales, Project Managers) on IFO opportunities
- Self starter with exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across an organization and cultures.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines with minimal guidance.
- Understanding of the links between advocacy, policy-making, legislation, and implementation of programs
- Ability to synthesize business and policy documents with an eye to key points and relevance to the company
- Ability to work as part of a global team and direct the work of other team members in various organizations.
- Ability to engage in business development activities
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skill
