Data Protection Product Marketing Manager

Job Summary:
 
As an Information Management Product Marketing Manager, you will develop and manage product-marketing programs to maximize revenues for the sales of HP Data Protector products and solutions. You will create and implement marketing strategies to respond to changing and /or competitive environments, which may include product pricing strategy, and overall product positioning. This highly visible role requires strong writing, messaging and strategy skills. A strong understanding of HPs Data Protector product and solutions offerings, relationship management skills, and marketing experience in a high-tech software technology, dynamic environment is crucial to your success.
 
Essential Functions:
 As the Information Management Data Protection Product Marketing Manager, you are part of a dynamic team that delivers value to the Information Management organization and supports sales and revenue generation goals. The team is tasked to:
 
 
- Develop marketing programs in collaboration with sales teams to meet marketing objectives and revenue targets.
- Establish, enhance, or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena.
Drive strategic relationships and go-to market initiatives with key HP Divisions including HP Storage and related groups. 
Synthetize strategic business plans and initiatives to capture synergies with HPs recent Autonomy acquisition.
- Develop business plans and product positioning in the marketplace including competitive strategies.
- Work with regional and campaign teams to develop lead generation programs which support sales growth.
- Work with regional marketing to identify local marketing opportunities to drive awareness of HPs Data Protector solutions.
- Track general business indicators, including market share, and competitors marketing and sales program activities.
- Communicate and implement product promotions.
- Develop and maintain the appropriate marketing and sales collateral  
- Identify and maintain relationships with product partners, third party vendors, etc.

Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and on cross-functional teams.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas.
- Marketing experience in the technology industry.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of HPs Data Protector software solutions and services technologies/concepts in a distributed environment.
 
Interaction:
- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties
- Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently.
- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert.
- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others.
 
Education: Bachelors Degree
 
Expertise: Product Marketing/Management, Business Development, Strategic Alliances.
Expertise: Backup modernization strategies including virtualization, cloud and deduplication ( desired ).
 
Prefered locations: Cupertino or California- based. Additional locations considered
 
Years of experience: 7-10 years.
