Job Summary and Mission
Are you a communications specialist passionate about technology Do you relish telling stories about how technology enhances peoples lives in big ways and small Do you love Starbucks Our communications specialist, as a key member of our Global Information Technology Operational Excellence team, will contribute to Starbucks success by implementing the Global Information Technology communications plan and by supporting communications for key projects. In collaboration with corporate communications and internal creative teams, you will play a key role in re-branding Global Information Technology; in collaboration with project leaders you will play a key role in supporting communications excellence as we roll out major Global Information Technology initiatives in support of Starbucks business initiatives.
Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Delivers the Global Information Technology communication plan by developing and disseminating accurate, compelling and timely information to key assigned internal and external audiences.
Advises and consults with cross-functional peers on the consistent, accurate and timely implementation of communications and plans.
Advises and consults with program and project managers in support of top priority Global Information Technology projects.
Plans, creates, edits, facilitates, distributes and tracks communication materials.
Implements processes for planning, updating, publishing, editing and archiving Global Information Technology project communications objectives and continuously works to improve these.
Maintains guidelines for the use of diverse communications tools to ensure high-impact use of these resources.
Maintains departmental SharePoint site.
Works with routine guidance from supervisor.
Summary of Experience
Corporate communications development, preferably at a multi-unit retailer, technology company or an agency, with experience working across diverse platforms ranging from web blogs to power point communications to annual reports to posters and signage. (4 years)
Project management of communications projects (2 years)
SharePoint 2010 administration (2 years)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, agencies and partners across the organization
Ability to apply general business knowledge and experience in a complex, fast-paced global environment
Ability to implement communication tactics both internal and external within a department or business unit
Basic presentation, oral and written communications skills
Experience in corporate communications, preferably at a multi-unit retailer, technology company or an agency
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
