Motor Trend Auto Shows, LLC (MTAS) is the countrys largest producer of Auto Shows. Between October 2010 and April 2011, MTAS will produce 23 shows across the country from the Orange County Auto Show in Anaheim to the Pennsylvania Auto Show, held in Harrisburg. The focus of the internship is to act as an assistant community manager, helping to build the social media presence of all of our auto shows. Responsibilities include regularly updating and maintaining Facebook pages, Twitter accounts and other social networking sites, proofing news releases and other materials; promoting feature vehicles and sponsorships and light office assistance such as mailing, faxing and emailing media alerts. The student will learn how to develop a social media campaign as part of a larger integrated marketing plan, and utilize other press and promotional materials in their planning. The campaign will need to appeal to a wide group of people and be adjusted for the geographic location of each show. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is a strong writer, flexible and wants to gain hands-on experience. Prior coursework in journalism or marketing is beneficial. A thorough understanding of a variety of social networking sites is required. The position is unpaid, must be for course credit and is out of the Harrisburg, Pa. office. Hours are flexible, but interested candidates should plan to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. The position is available now for the Fall 2010 semester.
