As one of the most senior executives of a multi-media company located in the Westchester/White Plains area, this position has a large focus on entertainment, fashion and beauty, and as such, this candidate will need to display a proficient understanding of this space and strong connections in those industries. This person must have a history of solid entertainment-oriented media relationships, demonstrating national media placements, strategic thinking and leadership. The position requires extensive knowledge of and relationships in fashion and entertainment. The ideal candidate will have the proven ability to deliver exceptional public relations programs, counsel and a track record of delivering on set targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic counsel to corporate executives and team members on day-to-day issues
Develop, pitch and drive PR programs/projects and direct/assist with program implementation
Design creative and innovative PR programs that integrate national, regional and local television, radio, print and internet
Leverage traditional media as well as digital/emerging technologies for PR programming and influencer outreach
Develop plans and techniques for pursuing additional business from existing clients
Responsible for managing the day-to-day PR activities of a multi-media entertainment company
Work and manage internal and external publicity support
Leverage red carpet events with fashion houses to ensure proper wardrobe and secure media placement of events in weekly and monthly publications plus broadcast
Develop organizational approach to awards and honors submissions, write and submit
Continually evaluate and identify key social, fashion and marketplace trends as well as competitors
Create an environment in which the team is motivated to deliver innovative concepts and executions
Requirements/Skills:
Candidates must have a minimum of 10-15 years experience in Consumer/Entertainment/Fashion/Beauty Public Relations at an agency or corporate in-house. Prior experience with celebrities, high-profile personalities, and experts is required. Fluency and/or familiarity with digital and social media required. Other key requirements for this position are:
Prior experience developing and leading fashion, beauty and/or entertainment driven campaigns and programs utilizing strong rolodex and experience with fashion/beauty publications, monthly and weekly magazines, gossip columns and national broadcast
Demonstrated track record of successfully developing and implementing strategic and creative PR plans
Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, deadlines and senior executives in a fast-paced environment with ease
Strong understanding of the relationship between traditional public relations and the use of current online/digital technology and social media
Solid relationships and working knowledge of key online/offline media influencers/journalists
Experience with clients and accounts that are measurement and evaluation driven
Strong MS Word Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access plus Adobe
Superb verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to think fast on your feet and to think creatively and "outside the box"
