Description
BlackRock US Retail marketing and strategy team is looking for a marketing associate to support the firm’s investment strategies targeted at high-net-worth investors including separate accounts and alternative investments. Primary responsibility will be the development of thoughtful marketing campaigns and collateral to position the firm’s investment strategies and value proposition for high net worth investors as well as partnering with sales leadership to develop sales and business strategy to increase market share in this important and rapidly expanding client segment. The successful candidate will lead strategic marketing initiatives from conceptualization to finalization, by applying analytical skills, investment acumen and strong program management capabilities.
Responsibilities: * Partner with separate account portfolio managers to position BlackRock separate account portfolios to high-net-worth investors, performing competitive analysis and designing custom portfolio proposals by mastering techniques to create custom asset allocation such as mean variance optimization and Monte Carlo analysis. * Work closely with head of retail Alternative Investments to design, launch and position new registered and private placement Hedge Fund of Funds and Private Equity Funds to qualified investors at major broker dealers. * Create on-going and ad-hoc documents to analyze BlackRock’s sales, market share and AUM in the retail high-net-worth marketplace. Develop insightful presentations that report this information to management committee of US Retail including head of sales, relationship management and marketing. * Collaborate with other departments, including portfolio management, product specialists, investment communications and value- add/retirement teams, to coordinate the dissemination of related market insight, value-add, educational and product content across sales channels.
Requirements: * 3+ years of experience from a top tier asset management, consulting or other financial services firm with a preference towards professionals with experience in marketing, sales strategy or private banking * CFA preferred; MBA a plus * Strong attention to detail with strong critical thinking and problem solving capabilities * Solid interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well in a team based environment and interact and communicate effectively - written and verbal – with clients and other stakeholders * Interest in portfolio management and solving needs of high-net-worth clients such as efficient portfolio construction, asset allocation, retirement income planning, tax-management issues, alternative investing, etc. * Experience working with investment tools to perform mean variance optimization, Monte-Carlo simulation, and regressions * Understanding of intermediary-sold separately managed account (SMA) and alternative investment marketplace at major US broker-dealers is a plus * Strong PC Skills, including Word, PowerPoint, advanced knowledge of Excel
