Overview:
As a Backorder Specialist, you will be responsible for investigating why backorders were taken, ensuring that merchandise is ordered on a timely basis to fill reservations, and working with Supervisor to develop proactive methods to prevent reservations being taken for out of stock products. You will serve as a support to the buying and planning team, with constant communication to all levels within the organization. You will partner with the merchants, as well as the vendor community, to resolve issues.
Key Accountabilities:
Run Queries to identify reservations for discontinued products.
Run Queries to identify aged reservations.
Determine whether reservations must be cancelled and customer notified.
Work with planner to ensure sufficient merchandise has been ordered to cover reservations.
Notify planners of shipping status of outstanding PO's for reservations.
Work with the warehouse on merchandise that has been received, but unavailable for sale.
Discontinue UPC's in mainframe and on the site when needed or at planner's request.
Reduce rate of cancellation by developing proactive methods to prevent taking orders for out of stock products.
Contact vendors regarding stock availability for the fulfillment of reservations.
Review ""Pending Putaway"" report and call out issues to the warehouse to proactively prevent availability problems.
Maintain history logs for cancellation statistics for comparative reporting.
Skills Summary:
Must have strong knowledge of Windows 2000, Excel, Lotus Notes, and Word.
Must have retail or related experience.
Strong Written and Communication skills.
Must have strong analytical skills and be a strategic thinker.
Must be able to work and thrive in a fast paced environment.
Detail oriented and highly organized.
College Degree highly preferred.
