Description
This Director, Platform Strategy-Data Management & Monetization will be responsible for the identification of opportunities and the development of strategies for the management and monetization of customer data. The person in this role will be looking internally and externally for opportunities to leverage data, and will develop roadmaps and solution architectures to support execution. The successful person will be able to assess what is possible and profitable, and align our current activities, identify untapped opportunities, and call out work efforts that need to be stopped. The person must also be tech-savvy enough to layout a high-level solution architecture that outlines what components must be built to make the strategy real.
The successful person in this role will have a track record as a change agent that can combine strategic vision with the knowledge and discipline to make things real. He/she will have extensive knowledge of data warehousing and management in an internet, retail or communications environment. Expertise in a "free" or "freemium" business with data driven or ad-supported revenue models. Knowledge of public privacy, and information security policies and technologies is also desired.
Responsibilities include:
Identification of internal and external opportunities to leverage our data more effectively to drive new revenue
Creating alignment of business strategy with platform strategy
Align business strategies with policy strategies associated with privacy and security
Authoring high-level business and solution architectures
Developing roadmaps for the realization and execution of these strategies
Supporting product development efforts to ensure alignment with platform strategies and help define requirements that creates differentiation and manage the feature set to generate results
Active engagement of Labs, CTO, IT, Strategy, and Marketing to create informed and aligned plans
Primary responsibility for communicating strategies and roadmaps to the senior team
Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples

Qualifications
MBA Preferred
Must have 5+ years of experience in a senior strategy or technology consulting role
Must have 5+ years of experience presenting high-tech business opportunities to C-level executives at large corporations
Should have hands-on technology expertise in communications and/or software product development
Must have experience with and knowledge of cloud computing architectures, technologies and products
Should have a network of technology partners and associates he/she can draw on for external knowledge and perspectives
5+ years experience in designing technology solutions and strategies for complex business problems at an executive level
Must have 5 + years in a role of translating strategy into detailed roadmaps and demonstrated success in bringing the resulting products/solutions to market
Must have the proven ability to innovate and drive change
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage and convey ideas to cross-functional technical and non-technical teams with the ability to function in a team-oriented environment
Hands-on experience in the architecture and/or product development of end to end data warehousing and analytics solutions
