Associate Project Engineer

The CMF Custom Implants Associate Project Engineer will need to perform implant and instrument design work as well as actively participate in, and sometimes lead, a multifunctional team to advance assigned projects through the design /development process and ultimately through launch into the market.
• Modeling and detailing of implant and instrumentation designs utilizing the PRO E and/or Mimics and 3Matic design software.
• Setting the direction and managing the work flow of assigned projects.
• Development of prototypes for design verification and validation.
• Interfacing with surgeons, sales representatives, and clinical advisors to gather input for design and evaluation of custom implants.
• Utilization / Management of the Design Controls (NPDP) and custom implant design procedures.
• Technical report writing.
• Active participation on, and at times leading, crossfunctional design teams to develop new product as well as address design issues / maintenance of existing ones.
• Learn all aspects of the surgical procedure in order to develop innovative solutions to solve / satisfy customer needs.
• Develop and manage project plans and time lines within the scope of the custom implant design process and NPDP guidelines.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with key customers, sales representatives and the design consulting group in order to recognize and anticipate industry trends and user needs.

Qualifications/Work Experience

• 0-2 years of product design experience in the medical device industry or equivalent.
• Prefer familiarity with design controls within a regulated industry.
• Prior work experience in the medical device industry is a plus.
• Self-starters, have a hands-on approach and capability to work independently.
• Experience with a parametric CAD design package. PRO/Engineer, as well Mimics and 3Matic preferred.

Education and/or Special Training

Bachelor's degree in a science, Prefer Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
