The following skills are required for the person in this position: - Ability to creatively brainstorm and conceptualize a variety of visual approaches for content, and to carry these concepts through in engaging visual products (including magazines and multi-media) with logical strategy, clear readability, entry points, visual hierarchy and balance, logical structure, typographic relationships and color balance. - Understanding and adherence to established client nuance and branding. - Strong knowledge of stock resources and licensing knowledge. - Ability to identify, commission and art direct both photographers and illustrators, and to negotiate contracts with them to achieve outstanding results. - Positive, team player. Asks questions and works to establish relationships with internal team as well as clients. Comfortable as an active participant in small groups. - Ability to articulate design and design strategy. - General comprehension and adherence to established processes (including workflow, schedules, team communications, and following basic budget guidelines) - Competency in CS5 InDesign, and some Photoshop and Illustrator.
