Account Executive - Online National Channel - Daily Deal Site
Do people tell you that you can sell anything? Are you able to pick up a phone and really cut through the layers to quickly get to a decision maker?
We are an early stage company based in New York selling national deals through our online channel. Similar to other daily deal sites, the merchant offers a discounted deal on our site, and we drive consumer traffic to their business. The goal of this position is to approach online merchants to get them to agree to feature deals on our website.
The position will utilize your professional communication, your research and interviewing skills, as well as your marketing and sales skills. You will be cold calling and/or leveraging existing online merchant relationships that you have. You will introduce our business and quickly qualify the merchant after outlining the basic structure of the deal.
The role may require educating the decision maker about our service and the benefits to their business so you should know a lot about the benefits of daily deal sites. We will provide basic training.
You will be comfortable on the phone, be organized and be able to quickly and concisely document the result of each call, update the database and type clear and concise notes.

You may already have a book of business Develop and maintain relationships with online merchants Assess potential business deals, negotiate favorable terms and acquire prospective commitment Communicate our proposition to merchants and generate compelling offers Meet individual monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals Communicate ongoing contact and sales activities utilizing
Requirements Minimum 3 years sales experience. Online advertising, direct marketing, local advertising a plus Outbound phone marketing and cold calling experience. Existing online merchant relationships a plus Great verbal and written communication skills Ability to navigate corporate structures to identify and negotiate with decision makers Ability to be assertive and persuasive without being aggressive. Active listening skills Inquisitive nature. Life-long learner who loves learning about anything. Self-reliant and reliable.
