Overview: The Microsoft Office team has just launched Office 2010 (consumer launch date was June 15 2010). Given that we're cooling off from launch period, we're currently in planning mode for the upcoming year and we'll be focusing on targeting the following audiences: enterprise (as this is where Office makes its revenue), families, small businesses and students. Of the above, students will be a big priority for the business this year. The AC will focus on both tech and consumer pieces of the business. Office falls under the IW (Information Worker) umbrella at the agency.
Responsibilities: The AC will help support the Office tech/consumer team in reaching our enterprise, student, families and small business audiences this year. It's a momentum year and we'll be tasked with spending 70% of our energy on reaching consumer audiences. *Support the team in prepping for events (BlogHer, CES, mom blogger conferences, Sneak Preview, Fall Open House, others) *Assist with integration between other Microsoft teams (Windows, Windows Phones, education, etc.) as well as internal Waggener teams (broadcast, Studio D., analyst relations team, etc.) *Begin building media relationships and "own" outreach to several *Assist with Office team news/announcements as needed *Help maintain and make suggestions for additions to FY11 media list, consumer media list, mom blogger media list. . Manage and fulfill requests from influentials (journalists and analysts) when appropriate . Begin building editorial relationships with trade/local press . Create and update media lists . Utilize resources such as Relationship database, library services, publications, websites, etc. to understand the audiences, interests and preferences of relevant influential . Coordinate logistics and schedules for influentials regarding client events and projects through proactive outreach and/or on-sight support . Increase awareness and understanding for team and client by reading coverage daily about one's client, competitors and industry . Draft and coordinate production of press materials including press releases, fact sheets, backgrounders, customer profiles, client biographies, media alerts, email correspondence, etc . Write and coordinate production of client materials including briefing books, coverage clip reports, status reports, email correspondence, etc
Qualifications: Education . Bachelors degree or above preferred in communications, journalism, marketing, English or related field Experience preferred . O-2 years of professional experience minimum, PR Internship preferred . Developed written materials that are organized, professional and concise . Understands of the role of the media . Managed multiple projects simultaneously . Worked under deadline pressure . Proficiency in using computer and standard office applications (Microsoft Office is preferred)
