Overview: This position would support the Microsoft Trustworthy Computing (TwC) business, which is responsible for building greater trust in computing through tight integration/partnership with other Microsoft teams, and strong, focused storytelling with influentials. The TwC group as a whole focuses on driving awareness around Microsoft's broad security and privacy efforts to strengthen user trust in computing across multiple audiences, including, technical, business, consumer, and elites. In addition to working with various internal Microsoft TwC groups dedicated to these specific areas, the team works closely with many product groups and international business owners to ensure that the TwC objectives and vision are represented appropriately in their communications activities. We work in a fast-paced environment that requires quick, close communication among team members in multiple offices and time zones and a willingness to help out where needed. We're looking for an Account Coordinator that will work as a team player, who has great listening skills, is current on new media, takes initiative, has confidence, and displays curiosity.
Responsibilities: -Drive effective integration with peers and clients both inside and outside the team. -Write and coordinate production of press materials, including press releases, fact sheets, reporter backgrounders, client biographies, media alerts, email correspondence, etc. -Contribute to PR plans across the team, particularly content related to digital strategies and tactics. -Write and coordinate production of client materials, including briefing books, coverage clip reports, status reports, email correspondence, etc. -Reactively and proactively contact influentials to fulfill requests. -Brainstorm new approaches, and recommend when situations may call for non-traditional and "go-direct" PR approaches. -Stay up to date on clients' products, industry issues, competitors, business strategies and PR plans. Also stay current on the latest digital and social media trends in communications. Share analysis with team and clients. -Create and update media lists. -Utilize resources such as Relationship database, library services, publications, websites, etc. to understand the audiences, interests and preferences of relevant influential
Qualifications: Required Skills: -The ability to handle deadline pressure and manage stress. -The ability to multi-task and prioritize "on-the-fly." -An independent and strong communicator. -Strong writing and verbal skills. Education: -Bachelors degree or above preferred in communications, journalism, marketing, English or related field. Experience Preferred: -1-2 years of PR, marketing, communications or media experience, with focus on technology industry. -Worked in a team environment. -Managed multiple projects simultaneously. -Worked under deadline pressure. -Developed written materials that are organized, professional and concise. -Understands of the role of both traditional and new media and how PR provides value.
