Verisign's Global Internal Communications department is looking for an energetic and talented Communications professional for a permanent, full-time position.
The Internal Communications Manager role supports the execution of company-wide strategy through various vehicles and programs to align and engage employees with the company vision and goals. The successful candidate will bring a high understanding of how to apply strategic thinking, planning, research and measurement to create and implement results-focused communications programs that support company business goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement communication plans to support company-wide initiatives that have high visibility
Responsible for maintaining daily updates to Verisign's intranet
Manage digital signage program to align with Internal Communications editorial calendar
Lead campaign support, developing, coordinating and distributing materials, including ongoing campaign status and employee updates
Develop and write articles, messages and presentations for all levels of management
Manage/support Internal Communication projects requiring strong organizational skills and follow through: story ideas; survey and focus group administration and analysis communications publications and vehicles; internal and external events
Consult with requestors across the company, using criteria and good judgment to identify qualified communications, and offer alternative suggestions to those determined unqualified for global communication vehicles
Establish a global presence on the Intranet by partnering with international content providers / owners
Other projects as requested
The ideal candidate has excellent verbal and written communications skills, the ability to build effective working relationships globally, have a strong sense of urgency and organizational orientation. He or she is someone who is tech savvy, enjoys a variety of work responsibilities, is flexible and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Communications, English, Journalism preferred, but not required
6+ years business experience
5-6 years of hands-on Internal/Employee communications experience, global experience preferred
Comfortable with technology and maintaining online and digital communication platforms
Experience working in a Marketing department and / or experience working with vendors and agencies is a plus
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent writing and editing skills (writing samples required); a commitment to producing quality deliverables in all circumstances
Strong organizational skills and follow-through; and the ability to take responsibility and consistently meet deadlines
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects; high level of flexibility to support new projects and changing priorities
Ability to develop good working relationships and effectively consult with internal clients worldwide
Excellent judgment, strict adherence to confidentiality requirements and the utmost professionalism in all situations
Ability to work towards department goals with sense of teamwork and necessary urgency
Ability to strategically analyze a situation and recommend a communication strategy / plan
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback to ensure good communication within the team and with clients. Positive attitude that reflects well on the organization and the company.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with Adobe PhotoShop and Microsoft SharePoint
